Happy Friday, everyone! Tonight I am going to see lots of brilliant musicians play the music of T. Rex and David Bowie at the Metro, and it's all for charity! It's a good deal. I'd recommend it.

The Dreamer
Seen exiting the
Red Line train to Howard at about 8:30 a.m.
She made her face up like an old movie starlet,
dreaming of the women she’d never be, dreaming of the strong, handsome men
whose arms she’d never know, whose lips she’d never kiss. She took the same
train to work that she took every day, dreaming of paths she’d never take,
dreaming of cities she’d never visit. She spent her commute reading a book,
dreaming of fictional worlds she’d never see. She coped with the daily office
drudgery by dreaming of the careers she’d never have. On the way home she
filled in a crossword puzzle, dreaming of the words she’d never learn. Later
she walked on her treadmill, dreaming of the body she’d never build. She ate
her dinner in silence, dreaming of the exotic foods she’d never taste. She went
to bed, closed her eyes, and spent the night in dark, dreamless sleep.
Happy Friday, everyone! Tonight I am going to see lots of brilliant musicians play the music of T. Rex and David Bowie at the Metro, and it's all for charity! It's a good deal. I'd recommend it.
